Two Developers Hope to Win Bid on Housing Community in Wayland

An advisory committee has spoken to two bidders hoping to win the development proposal at River's Edge.

WAYLAND, MA—Two developers have submitted proposals for bid to the River's Edge Advisory Committee, hoping to win the contract to build a nearly 200-unit housing development on Route 20.

Baystone Development of Waltham and Wood Partners of Lexington have both submitted bids, reports the Wayland Town Crier. The Committee will make a recommendation to the Board of Selectmen, who will ultimately decide the awarding of the contract.

The proposal also includes 25 percent of the units to be "affordably priced." The advisory committee members had not opened financial bids yet, and the questions to the bidders were "purely qualitative."
