On Sunday, April 12th from 10:00a.m - 4:00p.m, Lauren Craig Salon located in the Wayland Town Center will participate in the HAIRraising Cut-a-thon nationwide fundraising event to support the Heart Center at Boston Children’s Hospital. Children’s Hospital is the #1 pediatric hospital and research center in the country.

Lauren Craig Salon will open its doors and donate their time to provide wet haircuts (no blow-dry) to customers for $40. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Boston Children’s Hospital.

In its 6th year, the HAIRraising Cut-a-thon brings together the salon and hair communities to help support the life-saving care, breakthrough cures, treatments and innovations Children’s offers with huge global impact not only for children, but for adults as well.

Boston Children’s is no stranger to Lauren Craig Salon stylist Tracey Mitton who has been with Michael and Terry for 22 years. Her daughter Ashley, who is now 20 years old, was born with CHARGE syndrome, a rare genetic disorder with physical, neurological and developmental conditions that manifest differently for each individual. After birth, Ashley was immediately cared for at Children’s where she underwent open heart surgery at 2 weeks old. Being closely monitored her whole life, many of the same doctors at Children’s still care for Ashely today—20 years later.

“I’m a hairstylist and every day I get thanked for what I do with a person’s hair, “said Tracey. “How do you thank someone whose hands fixed your child’s heart and saved her life? I am eternally grateful for the love, care and support we received at Children’s and could not be happier to donate my time to this great cause.”
