Wayland 2020 Tax Rate Approved By State
Wayland has chosen a single commercial and residential tax rate for fiscal year 2020.
WAYLAND, MA — Wayland's fiscal year 2020 tax rate will remain true to Massachusetts' revolutionary roots. The state recently approved the town's single tax rate of $17.76 per $1,000 of value for this fiscal year.
The town held its annual tax rate classification hearing before Thanksgiving, and the Board of Selectmen approved the single tax rate for commercial and residential properties. The state then approved the rate on Dec. 11.
The fiscal 2020 rate is lower than in 2019 and 2018 — $18.28 and $18.03, respectively — but your taxes might go up if your home's value rose. For a Wayland home with a value of $500,000, the fiscal 2020 tax bill would be about $8,800, for example.

About 95 percent of Wayland's total annual tax levy comes from residential properties. Cities and towns with more commercial and industrial properties typically choose to split the tax rate, charging commercial property owners more and residential owners less.
You can find the 2020 property assessments on the Wayland Assessor's website.
