Wayland Fire Is Tweeting Now
The Wayland Fire Department introduced its new Twitter feed on Tuesday.
WAYLAND, MA — On Tuesday morning, residents (and reporters) were delighted to find that the Wayland Fire Department is now sharing information in a new portal. The department is now Tweeting, @WaylandFire specifically.
"We expect to use [Twitter] in the event of incidents that may impact the public (road closures due to accidents), department events and other emergency services related topics," said Neil McPherson, assistant fire chief.
McPherson said the goal is to Tweet at a minimum of a "few times each week, or as the need dictates." He and Chief David Houghton will maintain the account.
