Wayland HS Player Subject To Racial Taunts In Westford
The incident happened at a high school girls' basketball game in Westford last week.
WAYLAND, MA — A Wayland High School girls basketball player was subjected to racial taunts at a recent game at Westford Academy, according to a report.
Students at Westford Academy, a public high school, have now been banned from attending live sports due to the incident, WHDH reported. The ban will last for at least Tuesday and Wednesday games.
According to the report, the Wayland basketball player was the subject of “racially charged taunting language” during the Friday night game. Wayland lost the game 48 to 41, according to the team's officials Twitter account.
