Wayland, Meet Your New Police Officers
Two new officers were sworn in at Monday night's selectmen meeting.
Wayland, meet your newest officers.
On Monday, Assistant Town Clerk Diane Gorham at the Board of Selectmen swore in Officers Colin Fitzpatrick and Justen Kazan.
The two bring the Wayland squad to the total authorized level of 23.

Kazan and Fitzpatrick were selected after an extensive search. Both Officers graduated from the M. P.T.C. Boylston Regional Police Academy, 24th Recruit Course on July 2.
Fitzpatrick graduated from Xaverian Brothers High School in Westwood in 2003 and earned Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice from Saint Anselm’s College in 2008. He enlisted in the United States Army in 2010 and served in Afghanistan as an Intelligence Officer until he was honorably discharged in 2013.

Kazan graduated from Nipmuc Regional High School in Upton in 2005. He has attended Bridgewater State University and is currently working towards his Bachelor’s Degree. Kazan was a member of the United States Marine Corps Reserves and served for more than a year in Afghanistan.
