Wayland Police Charge Local Man With Failure to Register As a Sex Offender

An investigation into a possible restraining order violation in Wayland Tuesday morning ended with the arrest of a local man on a charge of failure to register as a sex offender.

At 11:35 a.m., David P. Shock, 42, of 9 Trinity Place, Wayland, was interviewed at the Wayland Police Department and subsequently arrested on charges of failure to register as a sex offender and two counts of violating an abuse prevention order.

The arresting and investigating officers were Det. Ruth Backman and Lt. Patrick Swanick - supervising were Swanick and Det. Sgt. Jamie Berger, according to a release.
