Wayland Police and Fire Log: July 22-26

  • 29 Forest Hill Road; July 22, 2:39 p.m. - Jewelry was reported stolen. Larceny over $250 logged.
  • 322 Commonwealth Road; July 22, 4:13 p.m. - Officer reported a breaking and entering to a motor vehicle.
  • 49 Forty Acres Drive; July 23, 9:08 a.m. - Caller reported a tree branch down on wires between Route 27 and the end of the road. NSTAR notified.
  • 8 Bent Avenue, Apt. 8; July 23, 11:27 a.m. - Individual came to station to report mail fraud. Investigation revealed no mail fraud had occurred.
  • 298 Main St.; July 23, 1:09 p.m. - Caller reported a vehicle "all over the road." Officer located and stopped vehicle around 377 Commonwealth and found the driver to be lost. Officer provided directions.
  • 44 Main St.; July 23, 3:43 p.m. - Two-car motor vehicle accident.
  • 12 Shawmut Ave.; July 23, 8:11 p.m. - Police arrested Rhonda Peters, 39, of Hull, Mass. She has been charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, operating without a license and failure to keep right. She was released on bail. 
  • 72 Sherman's Bridge Road; July 24, 12:07 a.m. - Sudbury Police spotted the vehicle on fire near the bridge and notified Wayland Police. According to Lt. Patrick Swanick, the car was later reported as stolen and the case remains under investigation.
