Wayland Police Arrest Suspect in Unarmed Robbery
Police located the suspect walking along a street in Wayland.
Police arrested 24-year-old Tyler B. Kim Tuesday evening in Wayland, about 24 hours after they say he robbed his former employer of $1,600-worth of Western Union money orders.
Wayland officer Timothy Henderson spotted Kim walking in the area of Oak Hill Road at 6:40 p.m. Wednesday, according to a police press release. Henderson recognized Kim as the suspect in the Dec. 17 robbery of the Sunoco on Main Street and arrested him.
Kim was fired from his job at Sunoco last week, according to police. The clerk working at the time of the Tuesday night robbery attempted to talk Kim out of taking the money orders, but Kim persisted. No weapon was used and no one was injured in the robbery.
