Wayland Police Chief Candidate Withdraws From Consideration

A candidate for police chief has taken his name out of the running.

WAYLAND, MA—Belmont’s Assistant Police Chief James MacIsaac has withdrawn from consideration to become Wayland’s next police chief, according to a recent announcement.

MacIsaac submitted his notice on Friday morning, Aug. 25, stating, “Since accepting the offer on Aug. 16, I have come to the conclusion that moving from my position at the Belmont Police Department to the Wayland Police Department may not be in my or my family's best interest.”

Wayland wishes Assistant Chief MacIsaac the best as he continues his career in law enforcement with the Town of Belmont, said the release.
