Wayland Police Log: Turkey Chasing, Lost Dogs and More (Feb. 29-March 8)

The following information was supplied by the Wayland Joint Communications Center. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

  • 530 Boston Post Road; March 1, 1:49 p.m. - Report of a snow plow hitting a car in a parking lot.
  • 119 Rice Road; March 2, 9:43 a.m. - Caller reported a black lab standing in the road. Dog was wearing a radio fence collar, but was gone when an officer arrived.
  • 409 Hayfield Lane; March 2, 11:21 a.m. - Caller reported having a stray dog at his house that "looks scared and lost." The dog officer was notified and the dog was determined to be the black lab mentioned above.
  • 70 Commonwealth Road; March 4, 12:38 a.m. - Arrest of Jorge Mendez of Framingham. Charges include operating while under the influence of liquor and unlicensed operation.
  • 19 Maguire Road; March 4, 9:06 a.m. - Arrest of Joe Nolan of Wayland. Charges include violation of a restraining order.
  • 70 Commonwealth Road; March 4, 3:36 p.m. - State police requested help looking for "a white male in his 20s wearing a red jacket." A report came in of the subject crossing Rte. 30 near Snakebrook Trail "with a fishing pole in one hand and a black handgun in the other." Nothing was found by Wayland or state police.
  • 7 Holiday Road; March 5, 5:22 p.m. - Caller reported seeing a car chasing a flock of turkeys. There may have been a gun "hanging out the car window."
