Wayland Police Makes OUI and Warrant Arrests

Wayland Police made three arrests in the course of less than 48 hours last week thanks to motor vehicle stops.

  • On May 18, police stopped Paula Bothfeld of Warner, N.H., shortly after 10 p.m. after noticing her vehicle crossing into the opposite lane near 292 Boston Post Road. According to a press release, Bothfeld, 75, was subsequently arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor and a failure to stay within marked lanes. She was later released and will appear in Framingham District Court.
  • On May 20, Police arrested Katie Sicotte of Marlborough following a traffic stop on motor vehicle with an expired inspection sticker at about 6:25 p.m. Upon conducting a license and warrant check, an outstanding warrant for Sicotte, 25, was discovered. She was arrested, taken to the police station and later released on bail. She was scheduled to be arraigned at Framingham District Court on Monday.
  • Later on May 20, police stopped a vehicle near 268 Boston Post Road after observing the vehicle fail to stay in marked lanes. Police arrested Salavat Yakupov, 51, of Hudson, charging him with operating under the influence of liquor and failure to stay within marked lanes. In addition, an investigation revealed an open container of alcohol in the passenger compartment, which led to an open container charge as well.
