VIDEO: Wayland Police Seek Suspect in Home Invasion

Police say a man broke into a home on Sunday night, and ended up running toward Natick, shirtless after a scuffle.

Wayland police are seeking a man they say invaded a home on West Plain Street, grabbing a 23-year-old woman, on Sunday evening.

On Sunday, June 14, around 9:43 p.m., police responded to a report of a home invasion on West Plain Street. A 23-year-old woman said that a white man, approximately 5’9” with a husky build and short blond hair, came through an unlocked door, approached her, and grabbed her.

She screamed, which alerted others in the home, and the suspect ran. The victim was not injured, but as the assailant fled, the victim grabbed his shirt and ripped it off. The man fled on foot in an unknown direction, shirtless and wearing dark shorts.

Officers, which also included Natick police, immediately responded and searched the area along with a K9 unit. The dog tracked the person’s scent down Main Street toward Natick before it was lost.

The short video below was captured on an officer’s dashcam. The officer had been parking a short distance away from the scene of the home invasion. The video was taken at 9:28 p.m., about 15 minutes prior to the reported invasion. Police are trying to ID the individual as a person of interest.
