Wayland Police Warning: 'Driveway Job Scammers Are Back'

Like mosquitoes and potholes, spring brings with it certain scammers.

Wayland police are warning residents that it’s that time of year again where “paving scammers” hit the area. They tend to target the elderly, they said, promising reasonable deals on driveway paving.

“After the work is completed, they inflate the prices and convince the homeowner to write them a hefty check. Keep an eye out for your elderly neighbors and be aware of door to door solicitors, as they must have a permit issued by the police department.”
