Wayland resident John Boyle to Serve as Event Chair for Robert F. Kennedy Children’s Action Corps’ Embracing the Legacy Gala

WAYLAND, Mass. — Wayland resident John Boyle III, a member of the board of directors at Robert F. Kennedy Children’s Action Corps, will serve as an event chair for Embracing the Legacy, their premier annual gala that raises funds to support its programs. The agency, which is celebrating 48 years of service, is a national leader in developing and implementing successful child welfare and juvenile justice programs.

Boyle has been a steadfast supporter of RFK Children’s Action Corps and was selected to serve as an event chair based on his strong commitment to improving the lives of children and families across the Commonwealth.

Boyle is Vice Chairman at Cushman and Wakefield, the largest privately held commercial real estate services firm in the world. With over 30 years of real estate experience, he has been involved in numerous headquarter transactions in the Greater Boston market and has significant experience in the area of multi-market, portfolio-wide representation.

Set for June 9, the agency’s annual Embracing the Legacy gala celebrates the legacy of the late Senator Robert F. Kennedy and the work of the organization founded to carry out his principles of social justice for the poor and disadvantaged. Boyle is joined by two other event chairs and board members, James Geraghty of Westford, Mass. and Congressman Joseph P. Kennedy III.

During the event, Congressman Kennedy will reflect on his late grandfather’s legacy and the lasting contributions he made toward protecting society’s most vulnerable children and families. The event will include a cocktail reception, seated dinner and program, including the presentation of the Embracing the Legacy Award to the following honorees:

Bill Lyttle, President of Key Program, Inc.; Susan L. Taylor, Founder and CEO of the National CARES Mentoring Movement and Editor-In-Chief Emeritus of Essence Magazine; and Donato Tramuto, Chief Executive Officer at Tivity Health, Inc. and President and Founder of Health eVillages.

Susan Wornick, former anchor of WCVB-TV’s midday newscast and a longtime supporter, volunteer and member of RFK Children’s Action Corps’ advisory council, will emcee the 400-person event.

The event will be held at the JFK Presidential Library and Museum, Columbia Point, Boston. Through the event, RFK Children’s Action Corps raises money to support at-risk children, families, and communities throughout Massachusetts, giving them a second chance for a better life.

Robert F. Kennedy Children’s Action Corps operates a number of programs and services for at-risk children and families, including community based initiatives, residential treatment and juvenile justice programs, and partners with national organizations and state agencies to use proven methods and develop new ways to advance practices in the care of those most vulnerable, providing the tools and skills they need to heal, grow, and thrive.
