Taylor will be working as a development associate, a role that will require writing grants and developing relationships.
“I wanted to share some facts about where I’ll be volunteering and what your donations will be supporting,” she writes. “The leading causes of mortality in Guatemala are pneumonia and diarrheal diseases. Many of the communities Primeros Pasos works with have inadequate access to potable water and lack means of sewage disposal, which predisposes them to many diseases and parasites. The organization runs a Healthy Schools Project, in which field trips are hosted at the clinic and health education outreach is conducted at local schools.”
