Wayland Residents, That 'IRS' Call is a Scam

Just hang up and report it to police. And don't worry.

WAYLAND, MA—A Wayland resident recently reported to police that he had received an automated voicemail message from the "IRS" threatening to file a lawsuit against him.

He was told to call "478-247-6098" to speak with the IRS.

It is a scam, remind police. The IRS will not contact you via telephone for any purpose. If you have been the victim of one of these calls, contact the Wayland Police Department at 508-358-4721.
