Wayland's Paramedic Roster Grows

Town Clerk Lois Toombs swore in Wayland's newest firefighter/paramedic on Monday night.

Kyle McLaughlin officially became Wayland's newest firefighter/paramedic Monday night after a swearing in ceremony at the Wayland Town Building.

Fire Chief Vinnie Smith and several other members of the fire department were on hand, along with many members of McLaughlin's family, for the swearing in ceremony that brought Wayland's Advanced Life Support staff to three.

Smith explained that Wayland is in the process of transitioning to a fully staffed paramedic roster that can provide ALS services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Currently, Wayland is able to provide Basic Life Support Service (BLS) at all times, but the ALS services are limited by the number of personnel.
