Wayland Says No to Landscaping Bylaw, Eliminating Funds for Water Access Road: Special Town Meeting Results

Breaking: An article to remove capital funding for water access on Stonebridge Road was not passed, keeping the plan in place.

WAYLAND, MA—Wayland held a Special Town Meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 25, to address 13 warrant articles, which ranged from approving a recreation strategic plan for the town to removing police from the provisions of civil service to purchasing 107 Old Sudbury Road.

Here's how the town voted on the articles:

1. Municipal Field Irrigation Waiver Bylaw Change - PASSED
2. Amend Chapter 36, Section 18 of Town Code, Attendance and Participation of Nonresident Town Officials -PASSED
3. Landscaping in Parking Areas Zoning Bylaw - NOT PASSED
4. Conservation Cluster Developments Zoning Bylaw - PASSED
5. Petition the State Legislature to Remove all Police Personnel from the Provisions of Civil Service without affecting the Civil Service Rights of Incumbents - PASSED
6. Authorize Land Acquisitions for Natural Diversity (LAND) Grant Program Funding to Purchase Conservation Restriction on Mainstone Farm - PASSED
7. Amend FY2017 Capital Budget to Eliminate Funding for Stonebridge Water Access Road and Water Main - NOT PASSED
8. Appropriate Funds to Purchase 107 Old Sudbury Road for Water Resource Protection - PASSED
9. Appropriate Funds to Purchase 8 Glezen Lane for Water Resource Protection -PASSED OVER
10. Assisted/Independent Living and Nursing Home Zoning Bylaw - PASSED
11. Home Occupation Zoning Bylaw -PASSED OVER
12. Town Wide Recreation Facilities Strategic Plan - PASSED
13. Pay Previous Fiscal Year Unpaid Bills -PASSED
