Wayland Town Election: Antes, Anderson Win Selectman Seats
Antes and Anderson won seats on Wayland's Board of Selectmen. See the Wayland election results here.

Mary Antes and Lea Anderson edged out George Harris for the two open spots on the Wayland Board of Selectmen in the town’s election on Tuesday.
Anderson received the most votes with 1,386, followed by Antes with 1,328, and Harris with 1,211.
In a second contested battle, for recreation commissioner, Thruston Wright III and Heidi Seaborg claimed the two available seats, separated by only two votes. Wright received 1,096 and Seaborg got 1,094. Bruce Cummings trailed with 734, not winning a seat for this three-year term.

Seats for the school committee were uncontested, with two candidates campaigning for two seats. Ellen Grieco received 1,344 votes with Kathleen Steinberg receiving 1,359.
Cheryl Kane got 235 votes for Board of Assessors, with Zachariah Ventress with 248. Two seats were available.

In another uncontested race, Sally Cartwright received 1,502 and Suzanne woodruff got 1,367 for the election for library trustees.
Two campaigned for two seats for the Board of Health. Cynthia Hill received 1,323 and John Schuler received 1,355.
Colleen Sheehan, who ran for the planning board seat, received 1,403 votes.
Susan Weinstein pulled in 1,504 for a seat on the housing authority, and David D’Irlando received 1,516 to serve on the commissioner of trust funds.
Thirty-four percent of Wayland’s 9,105 eligible voters turned out for the election.
