Weekend Happenings: Wolves and the Music of Royals
A monarch's music, ice skating and wolves to keep you entertained close to home this weekend.
When/Where: Saturday at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. at the Spellman Museum of Stamps and Postal History, 235 Wellesley St, Weston.
Why Go: Admit it, the Big Bad Wolf still scares you a little. It's time to face your fears. Mr. Michael LeBlanc from Gardner, Mass., will bring a live wolf to the museum and dispel myths about the endangered animal.
Price: Cost of museum admission.
Musicians of the Old Post Road present: Fit for a King - Frederick the Great at 300
When/Where: Friday at 8 p.m. at First Parish Unitarian-Universalist, 50 Cochituate Rd, Wayland.
Why Go: It's a celebration of music-loving king, Frederick the Great. The performance will highlight music popular during the monarch's time including selections by Quantz, Janitsch, Graun, Benda and Frederick the Great himself.
Price: $30; $25 seniors/students; children 7 to 17 free with adult.
When/Where: Sunday from noon-2 p.m. at Your Element Yoga, 525 Boston Post Rd, Sudbury.
Why Go: This is the second workshop of its kind and is geared toward women in varying stages of breast cancer recovery. It will feature meditation, Pilates, yoga and weight training. This is a chance to join with other women who understand what you're going through.
Price: $30
When/Where: Sunday from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. at Nashoba Valley Olympia, 34 Massachusetts Ave, Boxborough.
Why Go: This annual event promises lots of family ice skating fun as well as the opportunity to help a good cause or two.
Price: A suggested donation of $5 per person or $20 per family is requested.
StorahTelling: A Weekend of Jewish Exploration
When/Where: Events begin Friday at 6:15 p.m. and continue throughout the weekend at Temple Shir Tikva, 141 Boston Post Rd, Wayland.
