- Accomplishment: Jenna, a Wayland third-grader, will celebrate her ninth birthday this weekend and had a special birthday wish for her recent birthday party: She asked her friends and family for Toys R Us gift cards, but she had no intention of using them for herself.
- Key to Awesomeness: Jenna took her Toys R Us gift cards and purchased shopping cart-fuls of toys for the organization Birthday Wishes, which provides birthday parties for homeless children. She purchased items featured on the Birthday Wishes online wish list as well as toys and items she liked.
- Another note: Jenna's mom, Stephanie, nominated her daughter for Patch's Whiz Kid feature and had this to say, "[Jenna] is a great daughter and makes me a better person. Just thought she could inspire others the way she has inspired me." Stephanie also said that the family has dubbed Jenna's efforts, "Jenna-rosity."
