Woman Airlifted After Wayland Crash Along Route 30

The crash late Tuesday night also knocked out power to homes near the scene.

WAYLAND, MA — A woman was critically injured late Tuesday night after a crash along Route 30 in Wayland.

The Wayland Fire Department reported the crash around 11 p.m. across from the Loker Recreation Area along Commonwealth Road. The woman crashed into a utility pole, and had to be extricated from the car, the department said.

The woman was taken to a hospital by a helicopter after she was removed from the car.

The crash also caused a small power outage in the vicinity of Route 30 and Willow Brook Road, according to Eversource.

This is the second serious crash involving a power outage in Wayland recently. Route 27 was shut down for hours Thursday north of the Route 126 intersection after a serious accident involving an SUV and a construction vehicle. Those vehicles also took down a utility pole.
