Information Security Update: Recent email scams and how to stay safe (wellesley.edu) — Wellesley account holders are being warned about recent phishing scams that have successfully compromised campus email accounts, with attackers even abusing Duo two-factor prompts. Students, faculty, and alumnae are urged to question unusual messages, avoid suspicious links, and immediately reset passwords or contact the Help Desk if they entered credentials, Duo codes, or downloaded questionable attachments.
   

2. The Familiar Reimagined: Artwork by Eddie Bruckner Solo Exhibition at Wellesley Free Library (theswellesleyreport.com) — A month-long solo exhibition of Eddie Bruckner's colorful, pop-art-inspired paintings is coming to the Wellesley Free Library from September 3–30, with a public reception on September 9. Residents can meet the artist, hear about his inspirations, and see new works alongside favorites, including bold takes on Boston's CITGO sign, all without leaving town.
   

3. Following CTE report, Massachusetts high school football coaches address safety concerns in a violent sport (bostonglobe.com) — High school football safety is under fresh scrutiny in Massachusetts after new CTE findings, and several programs, including Wellesley, have experimented with soft-shell Guardian caps in scrimmages. Coaches and medical experts describe reduced live tackling, stricter practice rules, and a push for full-time athletic trainers as they try to keep participation viable while better protecting young players' brains.
   

4. Former MassGOP Chair, political pundit sues Shortsleeve campaign on eve of primary (bostonherald.com) — A February 24 Wellesley Republican Town Committee caucus is at the center of a new lawsuit alleging a gubernatorial campaign staffer secretly recorded former MassGOP chair Jennifer Nassour without consent and shared edited clips online. Nassour is suing under the Massachusetts Wiretap Act and for civil conspiracy, while the Shortsleeve and Minogue campaigns trade barbs just days before the Sept. 1 GOP primary.
