9-11 Memorial Planned for Westborough by Spring, 2017
Plans are underway for a memorial to be erected near the new Westborough fire station.
WESTBOROUGH, MA—The Westborough Municipal Building Committee is finalizing plans for a 9-11 memorial to be located at the corner of Grove and Milk streets in town.
At the center of the new memorial, which should be build by spring 2017, will be a beam that was pulled from the World Trade Center wreckage by a Westborough firefighter, according to WickedLocal Westborough. The memorial will include five sides, designed to resemble the Pentagon.
The town recently issued a call for proposals for the construction of the memorial, with bids being accepted by Sept. 1 of this year.
