WESTBOROUGH, MA — Westborough Connects is preparing to open its first permanent home after more than nine years without a physical location.
The Hub at Westborough Connects will open at 21 East Main St. on the first floor of the Keating Building, with the nonprofit planning to begin moving in Jul. 1, Executive Director Kelley Petralia announced. The space is intended to serve as a centrally located community gathering place focused on connection, belonging and local collaboration.
Westborough Connects is a nonprofit founded in 2017 to build a more connected community. The group works with local partners on programs and initiatives that connect people to one another, community resources and the town, according to its website.
The organization said the new downtown space will help expand its work to strengthen social ties, reduce isolation, encourage local involvement and promote belonging in Westborough.
The Hub will be located in the Keating Building, which Westborough’s Design Review Board identifies as one of three “Theme Buildings” in the town’s Design Review Board Area, according to the town’s design guidelines. The building sits near Bay State Commons, placing the nonprofit near one of downtown Westborough’s main public gathering areas.
Petralia credited sponsors and supporters for helping make the move possible. Inaugural Hub Supporters include Grossman Development Group, Cumulus Global, The Hensley Family Trust, Community Advocate, Westborough Podiatry and an anonymous sponsor.
Amazon SMA1, CorpCom Exhibits & Events, and EverRise are also helping to outfit the space with signage, furnishings, and office supplies.
Westborough Connects said it expects to invite the community into the new space after moving begins.
