WESTBOROUGH, MA — A hazardous materials incident at the Westborough YMCA prompted an evacuation Friday afternoon.
Firefighters responded to 4 Valente Drive for a reported 300-gallon sodium hypochlorite spill inside the building. About 100 people were evacuated and one person was treated at the scene by EMS.
The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection was notified about the spill.
No further details were immediately available about what caused the spill or when the building might reopen.
