Central One Federal Credit Union will open a branch at the school, eyeing opening this fall.

Central One Federal Credit Union will open a Westborough High School branch.
The school committee approved the memorandum of agreement with the bank Wednesday night.
"They're a great community advocate for us, and they ask nothing from us," School Superintendent Marianne O'Connor said.

Westborough Branch Manager David Kaiser said today the branch would be open during school lunch periods, and "for security reasons" would be used only by students, school employees and "town employees who have normal access to the building."
"An employee of Central One FCU will supervise three WHS student interns who will be trained as tellers," Kaiser added.

"The school will play an integral role in the selecting the students and we will be meeting with the administration soon to discuss that process. Though they will only earn educational credit while interning at the WHS branch, students will be paid as employees any time they train or work at one of Central One FCU’s regular branch locations."
Bank officials hope to open the branch this fall, Kaiser said. Renovations will occur this summer.
