Baseball, Softball Open With Pitcher-esque Day

Season starts with sunshine.

Mother Nature gave Westborough youth baseball and softball players a great reason to be outside on Saturday.

And then Westborough Little League and Softball President Rob Nagi offered 10 reasons why kids play baseball and softball.

Starting with the tenth reason, the answers were:"because my parents asked me to play"; "because I want to see an opportunity to get onto a high school, college or professional team that I realize I have to start playing now"; "to do something other than homework"; "to build my own self-confidence"; "to make new friends" ; "to be part of a team"; "to stay in shape, and to get some exercise"; "for the excitement and challenge of competition"; "to improve my skills, and to learn to play a game that people seem to really enjoy"; and "to have fun."
