Blood Drive in Honor of Westborough Teen Battling Cancer

A sixth blood drive is being held in honor of Corinne Sciarappa.

WESTBOROUGH, MA— So far the American Red Cross has collected 449 blood donations at drives in honor of Corinne Sciarappa, a local teen who has been battling a cancer called rhabdomyosarcoma for a year and a half.

A sixth drive is planned in Sciarappa's honor, happening on Saturday, Jan. 21, at the Congregational Church of Westborough at 57 West Main St., from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

It's best to schedule an appointment to donate by calling 1-800-REDCROSS or visiting redcrossblood.org, sponsor code Corinne.

"The outpouring of love and support at these blood drives has been incredible, and we want to keep the positive momentum going and support Corinne and her family through their continuing battle," said organizer Ilyse Levine.

All donors receive a $5 Dunkin Donuts gift card. Volunteer help and donation of baked goods are also appreciated. To volunteer contact anitalawler@verizon.net.
