Blood Drive Planned in Honor of Two Young Westborough Girls With Cancer
It's the fifth annual drive for Corinne Sciarappa, and the first for young Leah Davis, both battling cancer.

WESTBOROUGH, MA—Last year, then 14-year-old Westborough girl Corinne Sciarappa was diagnosed with a rare and inoperable form of cancer. Inspired by her kindness and spirit, it has spawned many fundraisers and drives around the area.
Recently, Westborough schools announced that a blood drive in honor of Sciarappa is being hosted by the American Red Cross and Congregational Church of Westborough.
The blood drive is being held from 2-8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 19, at the church, located at 57 West Main St. in Westborough. This is the fifth annual drive in honor of Sciarappa.

Sciarappa was diagnosed with rhabdomysarcoma last year and has gone through intense chemotherapy and radiation treatment and received over 130 units of red cells and platelets, said the announcement, but has been cancer free since May.
A big advocate for the Red Cross, Sciarappa wants to continue sharing her message about how important it is to donate blood.

This blood drive will also be held in special honor of Leah Davis. In January, 5 year old Davis was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, brain cancer, which had metastasized throughout her spine. She is currently undergoing aggressive treatment at Boston Children’s Hospital, said the release. During her treatment Leah has had countless red blood and platelet transfusions.
A Hopkinton woman, Stephanie Morey, raised more than $10,000 for Sciarappa by running last year's Boston Marathon.
"She has humbled me since we met 10 years ago with her kindness, selflessness and compassion, and I am overwhelmingly honored to take on this marathon challenge in her name," wrote Morey.
