Both WHS Tennis Teams Reach Sectional Finals

The matches are today.

Both Westborough High School tennis teams will compete in their sectional finals today.

The boys advanced to the finals after defeating visiting Shrewsbury, 3-2, in an MIAA Boys Team Tennis Central Division 1 semi final match on Tuesday, according to the tournament website.

Westborough faces St. John's in the final at 3:30 p.m. today at Algonquin. St. John's defeated Wachusett, 5-0, in a semi final match Tuesday.

The Rangers (14-2 regular season) are seeded second in the nine-team bracket. St. John's (19-1) is seeded first.

Meanwhile, the Westborough High School girls tennis team faces Shrewsbury in the MIAA Girls Team Tennis Central Division 1 tournament final at 3:30 p.m. at St. John's.

Shrewsbury defeated St. Peter-Marian, 4-1, in a semi final Tuesday, according to the Worcester Telegram & Gazette.

Westborough advanced to the finals with a 4-1 semi final win over visiting Wachusett on Monday, according to the MIAA website.

The Rangers (14-2) received a first round bye. Shrewsbury (14-2) is seeded second.
