Car Fire On I-495 In Westborough Causes Delays
All lanes were reopened — the fire was on I-495 north at the Route 9 interchange.

WESTBOROUGH, MA — A car fire on I-495 north in Westborough temporarily shut down one lane to traffic on Wednesday. Westborough fire crews doused the car, sending plumes of smoke over the highway.
The fire happened around 11:30 a.m. on I-495 north at the Route 9 interchange. State police said a 36-year-old Taunton man was driving his car when it caught fire. The man pulled into the breakdown lane and waited for fire crews. There were no injuries and the car was towed.
Officials warned commuters to use caution in the area. The scene was cleared by 11:56 a.m. and all lanes were reopened, although traffic delays lingered.
