Civic Club's Annual Tree Sale Benefits Westborough Playground
Buy a tree from the Westborough Civic Club and help out the town, including Westborough Playground.
This past weekend marked the 40th year in which the Westborough Civic Club has opened up its annual tree sale on East Main street, established to raise funds for the support of worthwhile causes in and around the community.
This anniversary has also been marked by the club pledging to become Diamond sponsors of the proposed Westborough Playground at the Commons project.
In a statement on behalf of the playground, Committee Chair Erica Dube said, “The Westborough Playground at the Commons Committee is extremely grateful to the Westborough Civic Club for so generously supporting our project as Diamond Sponsors - we know that the money committed represents an enormous number of tree sales by their members! We are thrilled that the Civic Club’s purpose, benefiting the Westborough community, aligns so well with our effort to provide the families of Westborough with a much-needed fun, safe playground in the heart of downtown.”

Speaking on behalf of the Civic Club at the site of the proposed new playground, club President Adam Boyce reflected that for the past 39 years the club has been committed to bringing benefit to the town of Westborough, its residents, and the community in general.
In a simple ceremony acknowledging the Civic Club’s pledge, Boyce stated “We are able to do this through the continuing efforts of our membership both past and present and the support of our many loyal customers at the annual Tree Sale. The club has become recognized for its ongoing civic contributions to enhancing the Bay State area with previous donations of benches, plantings, and the commemorative flagpole. We see the establishment of a children’s playground as being an ideal, sustainable addition to this area that will meet the needs of many resident families in years to come and hopefully encourage even more folks to visit and take advantage of what should be a great local amenity’.
