The Community Compact Cabinet was formed in 2015 to create and sustain partnerships between the Baker-Polito Administration and municipalities. This group is chaired by Lt. Governor Karen Polito and also includes the Secretaries of Education, Energy & Environmental Affairs, Housing & Economic Development, Technology Services and Security, and Transportation. Additionally, the Senior Deputy Commissioner of Local Services and the Assistant Secretary of Operational Services serve on the Cabinet.
“The Commonwealth is committed to providing opportunities for IT investment, especially during a time when many of our local governments have shown an increased need,” said Representative Danielle W. Gregoire, (D-Marlborough), House Chair of the Joint Committee on State Administration and Regulatory Oversight. “I was proud to have served on the House and Senate Conference Committee for House Bill 4932, An Act Financing the General Governmental Infrastructure of the Commonwealth, which was a $1.8 billion information technology bill that invested in improvements to the Commonwealth’s IT infrastructure. As we continue to navigate the new normal of conducting business virtually and providing for increased online-learning, it is vital that our communities have the tools necessary to do so successfully. I am grateful that municipalities once again have the opportunity to apply for additional funding for IT projects and updates through this program. I urge my colleagues in local government to take advantage of this resource.”
