"After being rescued, Chevy the dog and the four cats, Astrid, Cheddar, Twix, and Echo were all brought to Tufts to be checked out," according to the GoFundMe. "Chevy was declared a 'happy to leave that night' dog but all four cats needed to stay for more observation and a deep cleaning, as they were exposed to more smoke and soot than Chevy. Astrid, Cheddar, and Twix are now squeaky clean in health and fur and will be reunited with Chevy tonight. Unfortunately, Echo's lungs are having a hard time rebounding and is presently needing to stay inside an oxygen chamber."
The estimated cost for their aftercare is expected to be in the thousands.
So far, $5,400 has been raised to support the pets.
