Elsie Kaye Gift Shop &amp; Artisan Studio In 2009, on a whim, Holly Kenny took a flameworking class and learned to make glass beads. This sparked a love of glass art and led to the launch her business, Elsie Kaye Gift Shop and Art Studio in downtown Westborough. Holly currently teaches flameworking and metalworking at her studio and is on the faculty at the New England Craft Program in Williamsburg, MA. Holly loves the fluidity and movement of glass and enjoys incorporating metals, enamels and other elements that can change the texture and appearance of the glass. As a result, much of her work takes on an abstract, organic feel. Her work, under the name Elsie Kaye Glassworks, can be found at more than 50 boutiques and galleries across the country. Holly is passionate about promoting emerging local artists by selling their work at her retail shop, as well as helping to foster connections with new and existing businesses in the local area. She is an active member of her community, where she has lived with her husband and two children since 2006.

The Asian Long Horned Beetle has caused the cutting of 30,000 trees in the Worcester area, and satellite infestations in Shrewsbury show they are nearer to Westborough's borders. Jennifer Forman Orth of the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources will explain the history, habits and hazards of the Asian Long horned Beetle. Join Westborough Community Land Trust members in learning how to identify the beetles and infected trees and what you can do about it. Orth will describe the spread of the ALB, the tree damage it causes and the work to date to contain the infestation.
