History of the Presidency Series Comes to Westborough Library

The Westborough Library is hosting an interesting and informative series on the history of the presidency, in March.

WESTBOROUGH, MA — Everyone’s talking about the presidency, and this event gives folks a chance to not fight about the next president, but learn about the past.

The Westborough Public Library is hosting a three-part lecture series in March on The American Presidency, led by Dr. Gary Hylander.

Discuss the creation of the Office of the Presidency at Philadelphia in 1787 along with two key presidential elections.

Here’s the series:

Part 1: Monday, March 14, at 6:30 p.m. – “Hail to the Chief: The Creation of the American Presidency”.

Part 2: Monday, March 21, at 6:30 p.m. – “1796: America’s First Presidential Election.”

Part 3: Monday, March 28, at 6:30 p.m. – “1932: FDR’s New Deal.”

Gary Hylander, PH.D., is a professor of history and has taught at Stonehill College and Framingham State University. He has presented several other lecture series here at the library and is a very popular and dynamic lecturer.
