ICYMI: 3 Vehicles Collide With Moose on Route 9, 1 Injured, Moose Killed
A moose who had wandered onto Route 9 in Westborough was struck by three different drivers early Thursday morning.

WESTBOROUGH, MA—Three vehicles received substantial damage, one person was injured, and a moose killed after a collision on Route 9 in Westborough early Thursday morning
On Sept. 22, around 12:37 a.m., the Westborough police received a call reporting a three-vehicle accident on Route 9 West near Speedway Plaza involving a collision with a moose who was crossing Route 9.
A 2008 Subaru operated by Kevin B. Williams, 35, 222 Oak St., Shrewsbury was driving west on Route 9 when he collided with the moose, which had jumped the jersey barrier from the east bound lane. Williams was injured and treated by paramedics from the Westborough Fire Dept. and transported to UMass Medical for non-life threatening injuries.
A 2013 Mack truck being operated by Gerald L. Pierdolla, 48, 555 Summer Pl., Blackstone, then struck the moose, which was still standing in the roadway. A 2001 Mazda being operated by Laura Bermeo-Ortega age 40 of 12 Overlook Ave. Shrewsbury was behind the truck and also struck the moose.
All three vehicles received substantial damage and had to be towed from the scene. Mass DOT removed the dead moose from the roadway.
