Kate Donaghue Prevails In Race For New MA State House Seat
The Westborough Democrat has been campaigning for the new 19th Worcester seat since January.

WESTBOROUGH, MA — One of the newest state House seats created after the 2020 redistricting process will be held by Democrat Kate Donaghue.
Donaghue bested Republican Jonathan Hostage in the first race for the 19th Worcester District seat, which includes all of Southborough, most of Westborough, Northborough and a small portion of Framingham.
With 83 percent of votes counted, Donaghue was comfortably head with 9,173 votes to Hostage's 4,378, according to the Associated Press.

"For almost 50 years, I have been an active member of the Westborough community," Donaghue said when she launched her campaign in January. "As a mother to a son who died of an overdose, and a caregiving spouse who recently lost my husband to cancer, I have experience and insights into the challenges with our healthcare system that plague too many families in Westborough, Northborough, Southborough, and Framingham."
Lawmakers created the 19th Worcester district following the release of 2020 Census figures in August 2021.
