Kidnapping Charges for Man Who Allegedly Held Knife, Kept Woman in Car

WESTBOROUGH, SHREWSBURY, WORCESTER, MA -

A Worcester man is facing kidnapping charges after he drove a woman who had helped him move, and allegedly pulled a knife and wouldn’t bring her to where she requested.

On Dec. 11, around 10:50 a.m., Shrewsbury police received reports of a female who was being held against her will in a blue Dodge Caravan headed east on Route 9.

Westborough police officer Tyson Delong dropped the van on Route 9 at Lyman Street in Westborough.

Ronald J. Koehler, 50, 365 Hamilton St., Worcester, was arrested.

The victim, a 26-year-old woman, said she had helped Koehler move into an apartment and he offered her a ride to an establishment in Worcester. Instead, he headed east on Route 9. The woman said he threatened her with a knife he had under his seat if she didn’t hang up on the call with police.

He was arrested for kidnapping and witness intimidation.
