Major Crash On Massachusetts Turnpike Leaves 6 Injured In Westborough

The accident occurred around midnight and shut down one side of the highway.

WESTBOROUGH, MA — An accident on the Massachusetts Turnpike westbound in Westborough left six people hurt, according to fire officials.

The crash occurred around midnight on I-90 near mile marker and involved a tractor-trailer, Boston News 25 reported.

Two of the people were "heavily trapped," according to fire officials. Six ambulances were dispatched to transport the six people from the scene of the accident. There's no word on their condition.

The crash shut down the highway for about an hour before one lane reopened.

The accident is under investigation.
