Man Dead After Friday Evening Crash in Westborough

WESTBOROUGH, MA —A Westborough man has died after striking a tree on Otis Street Friday evening.

On Friday, Nov. 18. around 9:35 p.m. Westborough police were called to Otis Street near the Speedway Plaza for a single-car accident, where someone had reportedly been injured.

A 2004 Cadillac was wrapped around a tree on the west side of Otis Street, facing north. Brendan J. Haynes, 31, 44 Ruggles St., Westborough, was treated by paramedics and brought to UMass Medical Center in Worcester, where he was later pronounced dead.

The initial investigation shows that speed was a contributing factor in the crash, said police.
