Logs: Man Injures Face, Smoke Odor on Milk Street

The following information was obtained either through scanner reports, the Westborough Police Department or the Westborough Fire Department.

Here are excerpts from the Westborough police and fire logs. Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests; other than that, we pick out incidents you might find interesting.

Tuesday, Nov. 1

The logs are full of numerous burglar, smoke and carbon monoxide alarm reports. Most are attributed to the restoration of power to town. Reports of downed wires and tree limbs continued throughout the day.

10:55 a.m.: Wires are reported to be laying across Stevens Road.

1:54 p.m.: A two car crash is reported on East Main Street near the railroad bridge. Officer Charles Dapolite investigated. An ambulance was called to the scene for a person suffering severe neck pain. A field interrogation report was filed.

2:58 p.m.: Westborough police received a report that a child about 5-years-old was seen pushing an infant in a stroller toward the rotary. The caller said no parents were seen with the children. Upon arrival, a police officer reported that the mother was watching the children from a nearby window. He said that he would speak with her about watching the children “a little better.”

7:41 p.m.: Sgt. Chester Hallice and Officer Richard Trainor responded to a report that youths were throwing snowballs at shopping carts on Union Street. 

Wednesday, Nov. 2

9:33 a.m.: Officer Jeffrey Johnson investigated a report that a tractor trailer left overnight at a property on Turnpike Road was damaged. A field interrogation report was filed.

10:05 a.m.: Sgt. Peter Goodney joined paramedics on Mt. Pleasant Street for a report of an elderly woman who was vomiting and fading in and out of consciousness. The woman was taken to a hospital.

12:06 p.m.: A two car crash was reported on Route 9 westbound by No injuries were reported. Officer Charles Dapolite responded to the scene.

2:44 p.m.: A resident of Robin Road reported a car parked the wrong way on Robin Road near Milk Street. The caller was concerned that emergency vehicles would not be able to access the street. In addition, it was reported that a wire was down on the street. Officer Charles Dapolite investigated. The car was gone when he arrived.

Thursday, Nov. 3

6:50 a.m.: The smell of smoke was reported from a residence on Milk Street. The Sgt. Todd Rossi and Officer Christopher Atchue responded. The smell was attributed to the heat turning on for the first time this season.

7:17 a.m.: Officer Christopher Atchue and Officer Tyson Delong investigated a traffic situation on Lyman Street. ARRESTED: Jesse Ae Newton, 26, 86 Crestwood St., Apt. 2, Northborough. CHARGES: Failure to appear, warrant.

11:55 a.m.: Paramedics assisted a man who reportedly fell down stairs in his driveway on Isaac Miller Road. The man was said to have a head injury and a face laceration.

4:52 p.m.: Officer Tyson Delong investigated a report from South Street that a couple tried to lure a teenager into a car by asking for directions to a laundramat. The couple was said to include a white man in his 30s and a black woman. They were reported to be in an older model, dark blue sedan. A field interrogation report was filed.

6:57 p.m.: A two car crash was reported on Church Street. No injuries were reported. Officer Michael Daniels responded. A field interrogation report was filed.
