Mahi Bijoriya Wins Westborough Lions Peace Poster Contest!
Mill Pond Student Artfully Expresses 'Peace Through Service'
Mahi Bijoriya, a sixth grade student at the Mill Pond School in Westborough, was this year's winner of the Westborough Lions Peace Poster Contest. Gibbons Middle Schooler, Alvin Bobby, was chosen as First Runner-Up. The students are pictured with Lion Susan Ash, 2020-21 Peace Poster Chairperson. The competition was open to all Westborough students, ages 11 through 13. The theme of this year's contest was 'Peace Through Service'. The posters were judged on Artistic Merit, Originality, and Expression of the Theme. This local contest is part of the larger Lions International Peace Poster contest with students participating from throughout the world. As a part of the Lions International Positive Youth Development Initiative, the competition promotes student engagement and self -development.
Mahi's poster will now compete for the Lions District 33A prize, where it will compete against Lions Clubs throughout Worcester County. The Westborough Lions Club wishes Mahi the Best of Luck in the next level of competition and congratulates Alvin for his placing in the contest!
