Motorcyclist Seriously Hurt In Westborough Crash Likely To Recover: PD

The motorcyclist collided with an SUV along Route 9 last week, according to Westborough police.

WESTBOROUGH, MA — A motorcyclist seriously injured in a Route 9 collision last week will likely survive his injuries, according to Westborough police.

The incident happened Wednesday near 6 p.m. at the intersection of Lyman Street and Route 9. The motorcyclist was riding eastbound when he collided with an SUV whose driver was making a turn from the westbound lanes onto Lyman Street.

After the collision, the motorcyclist was taken to UMass Memorial in Worcester for treatment. Police said he "sustained significant injuries" in the collision, but the injuries were considered non-life threatening.

The exact cause behind the collision was still under investigation as of Friday. Westborough and Upton police are jointly investigating the collision as part of the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council Accident Reconstruction Unit.
