NEADS Partners With VCA To Raise $3,640 For Pets In Need
In their campaign, 'Pennies for Pets,' VCA Animal Hospitals in MA collected funds for National Education for Assistance Dog Services.

From VCA: VCA Animal Hospitals, the nation’s largest animal hospital network, and its nonprofit partner organization VCA Charities, have come together to raise awareness and fundraise for local companion animal nonprofits across the country. In their campaign “Pennies for Pets,” VCA Animal Hospitals throughout central Massachusetts collected a total of $3,640.88 for NEADS, a local non-profit companion animal organization, by allowing customers to round up all of their transaction amounts to the nearest dollar to benefit the charity and its work on behalf of pets in need. NEADS (National Education for Assistance Dog Services) provides service dogs for deaf and disabled Americans in need.
From April 1st through June 30th, 2017, VCA Animal Hospitals offered the opportunity for clients to donate their small change to the campaign, which will directly benefit NEADS. To facilitate a successful campaign, VCA provided donors with bracelets and hats for qualifying donations, greater than the amount rounded from their transaction to meet a dollar.
“We could not have been more excited to rally around NEADS, and be able to raise funds for their organization because they are an important part of our community and without added funding, they would not be able to provide the essential services that many disabled Americans need,” said Cara Casamasima, Regional Operations Director. “It was incredible to see our hospital teams push to hit their own individual goals, and even more exciting to see the reception of our clients. Their willingness to donate spare change and beyond is reassuring to all who service companion animals in various capacities.”

“VCA Charities and VCA Animal Hospitals are proud to support national and local campaigns that can benefit the important work that our nonprofit partners do every day to help companion animals,” said Ron Tatum, VCA Charities executive director. “We believe that the human-animal bond is important and this fun campaign engages our staff, clients, community members, and donors to all work together to ensure that every animal is provided the opportunity for a healthy and happy life.”
The “Pennies for Pets” campaign was so successful that on top of our regional fundraising, VCA was able to raise $450,000 nationwide. Thank you to the clients of VCA Wakefield Animal Hospital, Metro Cat Animal Hospital, VCA Northboro Animal Hospital and VCA Westboro Animal Hospital.
