New Veterans Service Director For Westborough
Justin Sousa is the new Veterans Service Director for the Central Massachusetts district.
WESTBOROUGH, MA—There's a new Veterans Service Director for Central Massachusetts in town.
Justin Sousa replaced Viviana Marcotte in the position, which covers the Central Massachusetts Veterans Services District comprised of Westborough, Grafton, Shrewsbury and Northborough. Sousa started this position on July 17.
"My intent for my role as Director of the Central Massachusetts Veteran Service District is to meet and exceed the standards my predecessors set by providing our veterans with diligent customer service," Sousa told Patch, swift issue resolution, and sincere representation in both the state and local communities."

Previously, Sousa was a case manager for the Veterans Northeast Outreach Center and holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from UMASS Dartmouth. He was deployed to Afghanistan through the Army National Guard.
"I hope to educate the veteran community on the benefits available to them at the local, state, and federal levels," said Sousa. "Because of their service, our veterans can utilize free health care, home loans, state tax exemptions, and many more benefits. The purpose of my office is to act as a guide through the world of veteran benefits, providing information and assistance as needed."

Sousa said he was drawn to this position because of the incredible opportunity it provides to interact with veterans on a regular basis.
"As a veteran myself," he said, "I believe that service to our country is the ultimate sacrifice. Our veterans served our country, and we owe it to them to support them always."
