Elsie Kaye Gift Shop &amp; Artisan Studio In 2009, on a whim, Holly Kenny took a flameworking class and learned to make glass beads. This sparked a love of glass art and led to the launch her business, Elsie Kaye Gift Shop and Art Studio in downtown Westborough. Holly currently teaches flameworking and metalworking at her studio and is on the faculty at the New England Craft Program in Williamsburg, MA. Holly loves the fluidity and movement of glass and enjoys incorporating metals, enamels and other elements that can change the texture and appearance of the glass. As a result, much of her work takes on an abstract, organic feel. Her work, under the name Elsie Kaye Glassworks, can be found at more than 50 boutiques and galleries across the country. Holly is passionate about promoting emerging local artists by selling their work at her retail shop, as well as helping to foster connections with new and existing businesses in the local area. She is an active member of her community, where she has lived with her husband and two children since 2006.

Alexis Sophia Alves, eight-month-old daughter of Timothy J. and Jessica E. (Barry) Alves of Leicester, died peacefully on Friday, Sept. 7, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. Alexis was born on Jan. 5, 2012 in Worcester. In addition to her parents she is survived by one sister, Kayla Barry; two brothers, Sean Alves and Matthew Alves; her maternal grandfather, James Barry of Westborough; her paternal grandparents, Robert and Maureen Alves of Leicester; her maternal great grandparents, Thomas and Frances "Mickie" Barry of Westborough; her maternal great -great grandmother, Blanche Barry of Worcester and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Alexis was predeceased by her grandmother, Cheryl (Sealy) Barry. The family would like to thank the staff on 5 East at UMass Hospital for their care and compassion. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, Sept. 12, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough. Burial will follow in St. Luke's Cemetery.
