Obituary: Maryalice Barrette, 81, formerly of Westborough
A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday.

BARRETTE, Maryalice Of Osterville, MA on September 4, 81, passed away peacefully, in the beloved home she built with her late husband Thomas L. Barrette, surrounded by her family and cherished friends.
She is survived by her three sons: Thomas L. Barrette Jr., his wife Renee Landers, and grandson Nelson Landers Barrette of Watertown, MA; George Barrette, his wife Diane Barrette, and granddaughter Kathryn Barrette of Westborough, MA; and John (Jack) Barrette and his wife Kelly Barrette of Delray Beach, FL and Centerville, MA.
Maryalice was born in Boston but grew up in Watertown, MA and treasured her summers at her uncle's home in Pennellville, Maine. She graduated from Watertown High School and went on to Radcliffe College, where she graduated magna cum laude in 1952 with an English degree. At college, she met her future husband Tom and many dear friends who would remain close to her for the rest of her life.

After raising a family in Westborough, MA, Maryalice and Tom relocated to the Cape, where Maryalice greatly enjoyed working in the Falmouth and Osterville libraries for many years. She acquired more lifelong friends along the way, and they became her extended family. Maryalice loved Cape Cod, boiled lobsters, good books, challenging crosswords, a dry Manhattan and all dogs but especially her golden retrievers.
Visiting hours for Maryalice will be at John Lawrence Funeral Home, 3778 Falmouth Road, MARSTONS MILLS, on Fri Sept 7 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. followed by a funeral mass held in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 76 Wianno Avenue, Osterville on Sat Sept 8 at 10:am. Interment will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Maryalice's honor to the Osterville Village Library Endowment Fund, 43 Wianno Avenue, Osterville, MA 02655.
